Third case study

Managing infrastructure expenses for plants

Issue encountered

The operator wanted to manage plant infrastructure expenses. To achieve this, they preferred using portable cranes rather than permanently installed cranes to maintain and repair the pumps and mixers in the wastewater tanks.

Proposed solution

The operator chose a portable Thern Davit crane for each site. They also purchased several crane bases that could be permanently anchored at strategic points adjacent to each treatment tank.

This way, a crane could be easily and quickly moved from one location to another. The operator also specified a custom assembly of wire ropes for each pump and mixer at each site.

Obtained result

The operator is satisfied with the Thern portable Davit cranes, which have proven to be lightweight, robust, and easy to use. The ability to use a single crane at each site has also helped reduce the annual inspection and testing costs of multiple cranes.

The operator plans to continue using Thern portable Davit cranes for their current and future operations.
