Find an efficient and cost-effective way to maintain the pumps.
This wastewater treatment plant uses four industrial pumps to collect and transfer wastewater from different parts of the plant to the treatment area. Once the water is purified, the pumps allow it to be sent back to the storage tanks and, finally, to be recirculated. The pumps are vital equipment in the process and must be inspected and maintained annually.
The traditional approach to facilitate the maintenance of the pumps involves purchasing and installing a separate stationary crane for each pump. The initial investment is costly, and the cranes must be inspected and maintained annually. The challenge was therefore to find a more efficient and economical way to maintain these pumps.
Our partner Thern recommended a new approach. They provided a portable Davit crane with bases that could be permanently installed at each pumping station to lower and lift the heavy pumps. The maintenance team could quickly move the mobile crane from one base to another within minutes to service each pump.
By using Thern's mobile cranes, the plant management was able to avoid the heavy investment in permanent cranes and the annual maintenance and inspection costs associated with them.
